Gerardo Abboud was born in Buenos Aires in 1945. After graduating as an engineer from the University of Buenos Aires, he traveled to the East in 1970. I have spent 14 years in the Himalayas of India and Nepal, studying and practicing Tibetan Buddhism. Since his early years in India, Abboud has been dedicated to the translation of texts and oral teachings from the Tibetan language into English and Spanish. In this capacity, he accompanies his teachers and other lamas of various lineages on teaching tours in several countries, standing out as an interpreter of the Dalai Lama on his visits to Latin America since 1992. He is president of the Dongyuling Tibetan Buddhism Center, founded in 1986 in Buenos Aires.
