II Carmelite Spirituality Congress — Zen Buddhism.

The Teresian-Sanjuanista International Center (CITES) and the Center for Buddhist Studies (CBS) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), co-organizers of the event, had to cancel the “2nd TERESIAN MYSTIC WORLD MEETING AND INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE: CHAN/ZEN BUDDHISM AND CARMELITE SPIRITUALITY: ON LOVE AND COMPASSION” that was scheduled to take place in Ávila, Spain, from July 26 to 30, 2022, due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 in Northeast Asia, where most speakers of the chanan tradition should come from /zen.

However, the “Third International Teresa of Jesus and Interreligious Dialogue Award” was held, which was decided on Friday, July 29, 2022. This Award was created by CITES with private donations to expand the spiritual health of humanity and promote authentic interfaith dialogue. This third call focused on comparative studies between Carmelite spirituality and other religious traditions, and its winner won a prize of 6000 euros. For the four finalists, the prize was 1000 euros for each one. The award-winning articles will be published in a special commemorative volume. For more information on the 3rd International Teresa of Jesus Award and interreligious dialogue, see: https://www.buddhism.hku.hk/documents/Spain_award2022es.pdf
