In a world where the climate crisis threatens life on the planet, Buddhism emerges as a transformative path for reflection and action based on spirituality and interdependence. Ecological Buddhism: analysis and action in the face of planetary boiling it is not just a book, but an urgent call to build a more conscious, harmonious and sustainable relationship with nature.

A call from Buddhism in the face of the global climate crisis
In a scenario marked by an unprecedented environmental emergency, this book emerges as an essential tool for those who seek to reflect and act from a spiritual and practical perspective. Ecological Buddhism: analysis and action in the face of planetary boiling is the result of a collaborative effort that originated in the First Days on Buddhism and Ecology, organized by the Ibero-American Network for the Study of Buddhism and the Dharma Gaia Foundation in October 2023.
These days —which gave rise to EcoBuddhism Laboratory, entity that has participated very actively in the coordination of this book by Dr. María Elvira Ríos—, they were produced in a hybrid format, bringing together academics, monks and activists interested in exploring the intersections between Buddhism and ecology. The ideas shared during the event led to the creation of this book, which seeks to deepen the reflections and turn them into practical tools for the sanghas, communities and the general public.
After the event, the organizers invited participants to develop their presentations in larger chapters. Each author contributed from their area of expertise, enriching the content with diverse perspectives that include philosophy, history, activism and practical experiences in ecological projects.
