VV.AA. (2023). Buddhist studies in Latin America and Spain (volume I). Jaume Vallverdú & Daniel Millet (Eds.). Tarragona: Publicacions Universitat Rovira i Virgili & Dharma-Gaia Foundation, 304 pages.

Last December 2023, the first volume of Buddhist studies in Latin America and Spain. This collective work, published by Jaume Vallverdú Vallverdú and Daniel Millet Gil, and co-published by Publications of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the Dharma-Gaia Foundation, is a milestone in the study of Buddhism in the Spanish language. Its objective is to illuminate recent advances in the field of Buddhist studies in the Spanish-speaking academic environment, promoting, in turn, its development and international projection. This two-volume publication, the product of a fruitful collaboration between Rovira i Virgili University and the Dharma-Gaia Foundation, provides an interdisciplinary vision of Buddhism in these contexts. The two volumes explore this tradition from a variety of perspectives, including anthropology, sociology, philosophy, Buddhist studies, psychology, art, and interreligious dialogue. This variety of approaches provides a broad and diverse picture of the presence of Buddhism in Spanish-speaking societies.
